Default Need help with a motor

Hey I will throw it out here to see if someone can give me any sugestionon how to fix it because I can't afford to get it worked on. My next door neighbor has a pontoon boat it was running good the first three times we took it out then on the fourth trip about halfway across the lake it started slowing down and the it would just run slugish at full trottle it will do about idle speed I can swim faster than the boat will go but the boat will go much further than I can swim any help to get this thing going so I can on the water instead of fishing shore lines all summer.

    Thanks James

I would start by pulling my plugs and checking those. Then check the compression for each cylinder and see what you come up with. It could be a number of things but thats where i would start. Also check fuel lines to make sure there is no leak.

    Default Motor Problem

    First things first:
    1. Check the fuel to make sure it does not have water in it!!
    2. Check to see if you have a spark at each spark plug. Should bridge a gap of about 1/4" if good.
    3. Plugged fuel filter??
    4. Carburetor dirty and plugged? Kits available all over.
