    Default Eufaula 3/21/09

Another good catch and some good fish also She's such a trooper. She put up with the cold, wind, and rain.
We had a good time even with the not so perfect weather. Fishing was tough at times but we got some really good fish.
water temp was 56 just for reference.

S D,I am from eastern oklahoma but living in Kentucky. We are coming to Ok next monday and I have never fished Eufaula before. I have an old friend (75yrs old) that loves to doodle sock for crappie and has always heard how good the fishing is at Eufaula. I know how hard it is to keep a good fishing spot but was wondering if you could give me any ideas on where to go or what to use? We will only have 1 maybe 2 days to fish. Thanks for your help.

Probably the easiest spot to go fish and find would be Crowder. Large parking lot and boat launch and you will be able to see where the fish from all the boats that will be fishing right across the launch at the culvert
When you get in oklahoma grab one of the fishing hot spot maps. it will have some posts marked for you. Also you can stop in the bait shop in crowder and talk to Barry or Todd who are a couple of the lake guides there. Plus they carry Bobby garland baits and the lil wassupahs which are good plastics to dip along with live minnows.
You can do some dipping right where you launch your boat in crowder. Then you can follow the curve of the lake around to the bridge by Rock Creek and fish the bridge then the banks before and after the bridge.

This time of year Eufaula is a gold mine of crappie. water temp still a little cold but there are some fish up shallow already. Once male we caught was completely charcoal colored.
