    Default Webbers Falls report

Went out today. Haven't fished the area before and wanted to get the lay of the land. Didn't go up Spainard Creek but did go along the river to Little Greenleaf Creek. Fished the inlet ,the barge pylons, railroad bridge, and at the spillway. No luck. Used about every thing in the tackle box. Fished a few small coves along the creek before we entered the river. Caught one small balck bass on a black jig. This was an accident so I can't take any credit for the catch. The line was hanging over the boat about 2 feet deep in the water. I was paddleing around some stumps at the time. Picked up the pole and there was the bass!!

Water temp was 51 to 52 deg F. Overcast and very cool. Didn't warm up and no sun to speak of until late afternoon. No quite time yet I guess.

Bill, a couple of places you might want to try. When you come out of Greenleaf creek, go stright down the rip-rap until you come to a culvert. Beach you boat and walk over the railroad tracks. There is a good sized pond that has given up quite a few bass. When you finish there go straight down the rip-rap to a railroad bridge. This area is heavily baited. Hope these areas gives you a few.

ko4nrbs did you stop the brush piles under the railroad bridge. I have been skunked there. You can always catch a few no matter what. I will head back out Tuesday and give another report on this post. Last week before the cold weather I had know problem in catching any. I know it took me about 6-7 yrs to learn this place, but once I did I had no problems with it.

Another place I haven't tried yet, but have been able to catch some is Sulfur Creek. This is just down from Greenleaf Creek towards the dam on the east side of the river. I may try it Tuesday then go over to Spainard Creek afterwards.

Fished the lake again today. I statrted out in Sulfur Creek and caught one (well that is a blue cat). After there I motored up to Greenleaf Creek and got blanked there not a bite at all. Then I made the run over to Spainard Creek where I caught a perch. This place completely shut down from about a week and half ago. This is typical for this lake it is either on or it's not.
