    Default Oklahoma

My thanks to all who participated and came to the 1st Oklahoma forum for Crappie fishermen that I know of. I am pleased at the turnout and the information that was received. Special thanks to the different vendors who showed up and talked about and even demonstrated product as well as the giveaways and raffled items. Bryan gave some excellent info on crappie areas as well as all the info from Danny with ODWC. This is a great opportunity for fishermen to come together and enhance our sport without undue interferance from outside interest groups who are only trying to pad there wallets. I believe we can take this to any level we want it to go to. I am willing to help and even administrate a Oklahoma Crappie Association and I am not wanting anyones money. We can generate income for this in some interesting and enjoyable ways. Think about perhaps next year having a Crappiethon. We could do some fund raisers and create the revenue for this and when it is all said and done have enough left over to do some very innovative things for the Crappie Fishermen who would be the backbone of such a forum. A special thanks to Crappie.Com Reaper Thanks for showing up and speaking. George is wanting to hold a meeting in his neck of the woods and I plan on being a part of that also. For all the skeptics just watch me close. I will not put one red cent in my pocket from any of this. What do I get out of this? A satisfaction of seeing something come together I hope that will benefit fishermen of many years to come. Leland was excellent and after fishing with him and Cissy after the meeting I understand veryh clear what he means when he says (WE) caught fish. Leland navigates very well and Cissy knows how to attract the slabs. LOL

Fishing is more than just catching fish. It is family, friends, and good memories. Some of my fondest memories growing up are of my grandma and me fishing for crappie in a farm pond and talking. I would really like to see a state group formed where a tradition of friends, family, and fishing stories that would span the generations could be bred. Let me know what i can do to help.

I know what you mean, we would have chased the fish more yesterday...but in all fairness I was TIRED or is it gettin old? We had a good time talking and soaking up the warm evening. I'm usually not one to sit very long on one spot and wait on them so I'll call Fish.on and G-Man when they get in 2' of water and give them the spankin they have comin!!!

I have a feeling the Oklahoma meetings will take root and turn into something great. I feel privileged to have attended the first meeting.

This is going to catch on. We are going to have some great times folks. Thanks for the input all. I would like to see a fall fishing meet. Camp at Oolagah maybe and do a potluck. More of a fish together this time. Any input?
