Default Boating permit on lake Hefner

I have seen that you can be on lake Hefner from 5am to 11 pm without a permit. What permit allows you to be out past 11 pm? Is this the city boating permit or some other permit? If so how do you get a permit to be out past 11?.

    Thanks for any info.

you always need a fishing permit to be out at the lake. It also requires a boating permit, these permits are for all oklahoma city lakes, as for the time posting this is to keep kids away from the lakes and trouble at night.

So as long as I have the fishing permit and boating permit I can be on the lake as long as I want?

I was confused by the sign right by the boat ramp which states Reservoir open 5am to 11 pm without permit. I thought there might be a third permit for after hours.

    Thanks for the replys

I believe it's supposed to be 5 am to 11 pm with a permit, closed otherwise. OKC police department enforces rules/laws at city lakes and usually have an officer stationed nearby. Check with them to be sure.

    Default Hefner permits

DirkVictor- If you fish from the bank only then you just need a fishing permit for 24 hour access. If you use your boat then you need a fishing permit AND a boating permit for 24 hour access. It has been this way for over 25 years.

Thanks for all the replies and info. I have it covered with both a fishing and boat permit. Just wanted to make sure I didn't need a third "Its past 11pm and you can be here" permit.
