To tell the truth, I don't prepare it myself. My friends that I give the fish to, are the ones who prepare it. But I will ask them the specifics and get back with the info. BTW, we hit CB yesterday. I got 19, but on;y two keepers. I'm not going to report how many B got. There WERE a couple of guys who did well on the keepers, on gray BGs. Mine were on an orange ice spoon.
How do you fish that ice spoon Sky?
I'll bet a pump and flutter pattern and the fish suck it in on the drop.
SLOWWWWWWWWWWly upward. Tried pump and flutter, which didn't work as well as a steady drawing upward. They don't thump it. Using a thin metal strike detector on the end of your rod is the best way to detect a bite. Most guys use a single action reel, so they can crank it more slowly. Many guys are making them and selling them, or you can get them online. I have seen lots of colors work. Black/orange, black/green, blue/pink, white/black, all orange, chartreuse/white w metal flake, and others have been some of the most effective. Hope this helps.
Got the dope (make that info) on the ginger steamed crappie. Wei says I couldn't do it properly, because it takes perfect timing on how long to steam it, based on the size of each fish. But you just make a ginger sauce by cutting thin strips and mashing them. Scale the crappie, pour the sauce on top, and steam. Make sure you eat the cheeks and the eyeballs.
Got a pretty good mess today, including 3 at 13.5 inches.

Hand-tied jig, Orange head/ variegated black and orange chenille/pink marabou and an orange ice jig worked equally well.
A friend and I decided to night fish. We tried from about 6 PM to 4:45 AM. Lots of people, then only a few, then filling up about 4 AM. Nobody doing much good. Friend got 3 keepers and a bunch of dinks. I lost four keepers and caught 73 dinks. Uses various ice spoons and jigs. Rained most of the night. Might have to go after some slimers.
That’s a nice mess on the 5TH BigSky

Dock closed to inside fishing. Outside fishing allowed with 6 ft. spacing between fishermen. They dropped some brush on the outside yesterday.
Bigger fish hiding. Got 62 dinks and one keeper, plus 7 bluegills, 2 warmouth, 1 channel cat, and 1 bass. Quite a few people. 6-ft spacing observed, except for those who rode together. Nobody catching fish of any size.
