Attachment 326497Attachment 326498Attachment 326499 I'll NEVER nononoput a transducer on a trolling motor again. So easy to deploy and Major improvement of downscan:yikes performance. <*)}}}><
Yup been rocking a fishing specialties mount for years now and not one problem with it. Cheap and does the job.
I am looking at the 93sv unit and if you get without transducer it's 200 less than with. If I will primarily used livescope up front do I really need the other TD?
HB is bound to have something pretty soon since Lowrance has announced its new LiveSight!
Fish in Real-Time with LiveSight Sonar (Coming Early 2019)
Sonar interpretation made simple, LiveSight™ sonar turns all fishing into sight fishing, delivering the most detailed views of fish, down to every turn and flip of the tail, as they swim in and around cover. You’ll be fishing in real-time as you watch fish react to your lure, see how they are relating to structure and gain insight on what will work, what won’t and what to do next.
I see where Rickie said around $1,500 for xducer plus about $300 for a module and you still have to have a head unit of your choice from a Carbon unit our better. So no way it will compete with Garmin on price, and worse yet there is a video out there and if it is correct it did not look like anything more that a Panoptics image.

I was told Garmin is coming out with a new echomap series locator pretty quick. I noticed on the Bass Pro, Cabellas and the GPS store, they are not showing any 93sv's now so it won't be long. GPS store says they will be available mid to late January.
I heard from Garmin that the updated series includes advanced cartography and this cartography can update the existing plus units. Might have to pay for the update.

So I just got a new boat and I am thinking of installing live scope on the bow. I was thinking of the Echomap 93sv up there. Is this a good unit to run with Live scope? What else would I need?(besides the panoptix transducer)
If you call cabellas, they still had some of the 93sv's with touchscreen on sale for 599.00. It's an unbelievable unit for this price. They don't have the listed on their website so you have to call. I use the fishing specialty's transducer pole mounted across from my trolling motor. If you are gonna run a trolling motor with a remote and spot lock, this is pretty cheap insurance to protect your transducer and cable. There are pictures of the pole on this forum. They make a mount now specifically for the livescope transducer for 150.00. www.fishingspecialties.com. Any questions you can call them and they are very helpful.
I Am ordering this now! Thanks for that
The lady there said that it was a Bass Pro deal.
Had a buddy just get one from Cabellas a couple days ago. They must be out of them
If your looking for the cheapest way to get a LiveScope up and running then the best deal I found was at the GPS store 94SV without the ducer. It looks like everyone is holding at the $1,499 price for the scope. I don't have very deep pockets so I'm catering to the Sportsman's Guide since you can both the 93Sv and live scope on a 4 payment plan with no interest, free shipping and a $25 off bonus. Buying direct from Garmin may not be a bad deal I went as far as the "confirm purchase" button and it never did add any taxes, but after this gets out that will probably get changed.

Lonnie that 94sv is a blue water unit not inland lake mapping so you would have to turn around and pay for a inland lake card.
Wouldn't think so but I would call customer support before I pulled the trigger. I saw those at the gps store for 599 and was wondering about that to. They do have a panoptix port so really shouldn't matter
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!
You will be sending the whole thing back after you find out the regular 93sv doesn't work! You need 1. transducer 2. a module box (usually but not always paired with transducer) 3. A compatible display unit. In addition I will add, buy the inland map version. I have spoken with some Garmin tech guys and they said since Garmin has purchased Navionics it has made available to Garmin some great mapping data such as 1 foot contours for many of our lakes. They will soon package this in a online software update for their registered customers (so register your unit! and yes it is a pain). Garmin allows you one free download to update your maps. I was advised to wait until after March of this year to take advantage of that offer so that I can obtain the new mapping features that will be soon released. I have yet to use the mapping on my Garmin, but you better believe I will in the future with 1 foot contours! One a side note, I found out the hard way do not remove you unit from the bail mount by the quick release thumb tab. Unscrew the wiring from the back and release the unit from the bail mount by unscrewing and releasing the gimble knobs. If you don't, the connecting may fail and cause your unit to not power up and or blow fuses rendering you finder-less for a time :dono. Back order is 3-6 weeks if you want a free one from Garmin OR, like me, you purchase on amazon for 70 bucks because you want to get back on the water. That may not be available much longer either, I got one of the last 3 that amazon had :highfive. So if don't heed the warning and you break yours, when my free one from Garmin gets here in February, I will sell it to you for 70 bucks LOL
Fishers, let me clarify..
Don't remove with the quick release tab, but DO remove by unscrewing the cables and gimble screws?
That is correct. I should have said do not remove the display from the bail mount. If you want to remove the display from your boat, leave the display attached to the bail mount and remove both by unscrewing the wires and gimbal knobs leaving the bail mount attached to the display. I apologize for not being clear enough.
You were likely clear enough for 99.9% of the cdc population. I'm a little slow sometimes. LOL
I am anxiously close to pulling the trigger on the Livescope so I'm keeping close tabs on this thread. I've got the cash, I'm just holding on til somebody puts the 93sv Plus on sale. With spring coming, it shouldn't be long.
Well, I ordered the 93sv from Cabelas/Bass pro, whichever one it is. I kinda went in blind on this one. Not exactly sure what unit I'm getting, but it will be here tomorrow! Cost 599$. I am still torn if I want to keep it or wait a little while to see what HB comes out with.
If it's the touchscreen then it's the plus unit and will have the live scope port plus chirp downscan and side scan along with chirp sonar.
Yes. It is the Touch. So that's good
Yes it is. The older unit had chirp sonar only where the new unit as I mentioned has chirp downscan and side scan. Think I would try it before you decide to buy something else. They are pretty impressive. The livescope port on the back of the unit will say panoptix.
Well.... I just sent in my taxes for last year. Livescope here I come!!!! Im not waiting any longer for something possibly better to come out. Instead of waiting I'll be fishing! Thanks for all of the input.
Hello guys if you need to order Garmin units give The Bass Tank a chance. Oklahoma owned company call John Soukup 1-405-234-7997 they also are experts on installation and on the water instruction. EB
Wow. That's great. All the technology in the world is useless if you don't know how to use it. I'm guessing by the area code that they are around OKC area?
Here is a link to there page.

I talked with a guy at The Bass Tank last night. They are in Mounds. He was extremely helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. They will even take you out and show you how to use everything!
They have an on the water professional John Soukup and an installation engineer Scott Palmer. Both guys are very good. EB
I'm really impressed with what I've seen of Garmin panoptix live scope. I'm a HB fan owning 2 helix 10s and a helix 7 ice.
Just got off telephone with HB ad they said they have no plan to come out with anything like it. I don't know if they are lying to sell their gen 3s or not. looks like I will be looking at garmin
I called and basically asked the same thing. Told them I like HB and am willing to wait until release. They said they don't have anything in the works. So with that being said, Thanks to EB, I ordered a Livescope this morning from The Bass Tank. Scott was extremely helpful!
You are very welcome sir
I engineered (term used loosely) my own design for a livescope mount with an ultrex trolling motor. So if you have an ultrex watch the videos on my YouTube page and let me know what you think.
