    Default Pulling Cranks for crappie

Does anyone do this on Eufaula? Looks fun. Just don't know if it would work around here.

Works just as well in Oklahoma as it does anywhere else. When I lived at Eufaula I did it successfully at the right time of the year. Still do it occasionally at 10killer but really like it at Wister and Thunderbird (or anywhere else there are 'eyes.) I prefer to push as there is more control of the cranks that way.

Iken....Push Cranks? Where on Eufaula did you try this? Up around the dam area looks like areas I've seen them use this method on youtube videos.

I used to do it mostly in the triangle area as that's where I fished a lot.

I fish that area a couple of weeks ago...mainly around the bridges and didn't do any good at all. Maybe this technique would've worked.

IKen, what size weight do you use when pushing the cranks?

I use 1 to 3 oz depending on the crank and speed I want to go. Use the same rods as I do when spider rigging. 2 14' & 2 12' B&M PS trolling rods.
Usually also drag two jigs about 40' behind the boat about 6-8' behind a float designed to cast flies. That way they won't go to the bottom if I stop

Neither spider rig or cranks are my favorite way to fish but are sometimes most effective.

I absolutely love feeling the thump double dipping jigs. I've just not done very good on them this summer. Thought I might try something different. Learning curve for sure as to where to find them and presentation.
