Skiatook Lake Suggestions Needed

The Oklahoma Spring Crappie Camp will be Friday-Sunday, April 7-9 and most of the Campers have never fished the lake before. Any suggestions from folks that currently fish Skiatook or fished the last tournament would be greatly appreciated. Information such as general or specific areas to fish, jig soft bait types/colors or success with minnows would be great. Also need suggestions on fishing techniques i.e. spider rigging, single pole jigging, "strollin" with double poles, cast and dragging brush piles, etc......thanks in advance for any suggestions you can offer......

Dave, I haven't fished Skiatook since the tournament, so I'm not really sure what the fish are doing right now. This rain may make fishing up in the creek tough. I would try pitching a cork on main lake rocky banks. Usually I set my jig deeper on Skiatook than Kaw or Eufaula. I will try to fish it sometime this week and give you a better report. -Jeff

Bull Creek area should be good. I have sunk a lot of brush in there if you can't find any on the banks. Big Hominy Creek would be my choice if there's not a lot of current.

Wow! Not much in here, hopefully we can pull together once we all get out there this weekend and put some fish in the boats. All this rain may make it a sit around the campfire type of weekend, at least I've heard over and over what a good group of guys y'all are. I'm excited to make some acquaintances and TRY to catch some crappie.
