Yeah, I was thinking that I would get more quality ones out of the school I was in. I moved around the entire cove and all of them were small, I figured I would find a school with some bigger class fish but I didn't get on them. It was a good time, and was certainly better than not catching anything, but I didn't know if this was a lake-wide phenomenon or if it in-fact was how the whole lake is on average. I used to fish there as a little kid (10-13) years ago, but that was about maybe 15 years ago so it has definitely been awhile, I don't remember them being that small, but you know how that goes. Everything looks bigger when you are a kid. So I wanted to ask.
Hi DrNipFirst of all, Crappie bite is fair to good. Crappie is in good size this year (a lot of 9+ inches). It just hard to catch them because they bite kindda deep (in 23' - 27' FOW). They also bite just off the bottom. The slip corking really works at the pump house and the water tower. You have to use 3/16oz or 1/4oz jighead to be able to get to where the fish are hanging at. Strike King Mr. Crappie black and chart seems to work better. Hope this help DrNip. Crappie fishing should be improved this week due to North-wind. Good luck fishing.
