Thread: Ice Storm

If all the weather folks are correct, we are going to have a catastrophic ice storm in northern and western Oklahoma along with Kansas and Missouri. Everyone is getting prepared for the worst up here. They say it could be a repeat of 2002 when we were without power around Kaw for 2 weeks. Hoping it ends up mostly rain. Everyone stay safe.

Armageddon didn't happen thank goodness.

Redge, do you remember what Muammar Gaddafi did about 25-30 years ago? He came on their national TV and announced that since the weathermen could not make correct predictions, he was going to execute all of them, and there would be no more forecasts.

They would all starve.

lkillebrew, they were biting at Cobb tonight. The fishing was best during the thunderstorm, as the whole dock was rocking and rolling, and the boats in the stalls were doing the hula. One newbie Asian guy asked me if it was safe to be out there during the storm. I told him "Probably not, but when the fishing is good......"

Y'all must not have gotten the real weather map this weekend. Here it is.

Ice building on the trees tonight, but the roads are not slick. It's right at 32 degrees and expected to not go lower.
The weather lady on KFOR was a little testy on negative comments of their forecast on Facebook I hear.

Testy? I guess she doesn't realize how many people and businesses depend on they're so called forecasts. I wonder how much money was wasted just Fri from schools and businesses closing. I understand the better safe than sorry but when they are predicting all out Armageddon and nothing happens it's hard not to be critical. Besides, I was going to go fishing and cancelled and then found out I could have gone anyway. LOL
