OK guys I haven't posted in. A bit however ever week this spring I have caught all my crappie around 11ft. And still catching them there with eggs. Any idea

Don't feel alone ... same thing is happening at some of my home lakes (in Ky), as well as the lake in East Tenn that I just fished earlier this week.

Best I can tell is that the fluctuating weather/water levels has them moving in & then backing off ... and the water temps got too high in the shallows for them to continue their shallow spawning attempts. They "may" attempt to spawn a little deeper than normal, if possible, or they may simply absorb their eggs and live to try again next year.

Look for another push towards the bank during the full moon phase this month. Gonna get good. Hadn't seen much in the way of male activity other than their color. No tails beat up or any cuts on their body's from spawning activities. Reason I believe they will make another push in 10 days or so.......Ranger

Yea! This month the full moon is Sat, the 21st although it will look full for a couple of days before that. The only time I have free this month is the 18th thru the 21st so that will be perfect! I already had a Geezer camp planned for Bea and I the 19th thru 21st. I plan on Pine Creek, water level permitting. It's up a bunch now but may make it down. If not there I will be someplace where the level is decent. If anyone wants to join me - come on down! Eat, Sleep, Fish!

Wister Tues, Keystone Fri, Oologah Sat. Wister hardly any females with eggs, males tails beat up and males turning back to normal color, water temp in the morning 75.5 degrees. Keystone, looked like 50% females finished but only a 12 fish sample, water 68. Oologah looked like 50% females finished, water 68 at noon when I got there. Couldnt catch fish shallow at Oo or Key, caught some shallow at Wistr. Hope this helps.

They will spawn in waves. Same will even be as late as June. In late April is the largest wave. Early ones in early April late March to last ones in first of june.
Temp. Water level -rising and lowering. And length of light in a day. All affect the waves.

No tails beat up or any cuts on their body's from spawning activities.

Ranger, I cleaned 9 last night off of FG, 6 were full of eggs with tight firm sacks, 2 appeared to be females that had already spawned out (they both had a larger empty cavity in them) and 1 male. The thing that really got my attention was all of these fish including the females with eggs had really rough beaten up tails and a couple of them were even tore up a bit on there sides just above there tails almost like bite marks. I thought only the mails usually got the beat up tails, but these females were in pretty rough shape.
