That's great! I just back in from a distress call from a friend with the same issue. He fired up his new HDS 9 Gen 2 at the console when he left the ramp and left it on all day while he sat up front running the TM, an elite 4 and an elite 5. All three graphs are tied to his cranking battery. He had stowed and unpluged his XI5 and his cranking battery was dead. Before he could redeploy his TM and get it plugged back in, the south wind had washed him ashore. He had a long set of jumpers in his boat and didn't remember them until he was beached.
I told him that the bigger units will drain a battery down over time and that's why I just turn mine off if I'm not going to use it. Others put them on standy by, but mine is switched and it's faster to just hit the power switch. Together, we got him off the shore, he went and got his truck and I loaded the boat for him. afterwards, I told him that I will usually leave my TM down until my big motor is started and warmed back up when in a wind, that way I still have some control of the boat.
Glad things worked out for you!
Oh, and I bet I could win a contest for loading a boat on a trailer under TM power only. One man contest, feet must stay dry! lol
The root cause of the 250 Pro XS not starting was a dead starter. Mike Wilhite(Boat Dr.) was referred to me by Eufaula Boy. I dropped the Z9 off at 6:30 pm last night. Mike called this morning around 10:30 am saying it was fixed. I picked it up and all is good! Mike is amazing. A very gifted man. 918-473-7792 is his number. He is located a mile east of Checotah on Higway 266. I highly recommend his service!
