    Default My Favorite Fishing Partner


    Here is my favorite fishing partner (for 50+ years). A close second are the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and anyone to visit with while fishing. We caught mostly 11-11.5 inchers, with quite a few others up to 14 inches. A 1/16th jig with blue head/yellow yarn body/yellow hair tail w/ a little flashabou got most of the fish. A 1/64th all white jig w/ silver wrap also worked well.

    Sounds like a great trip Eric- way to go! And your fishing buddy looks happy which is not easy to pull off for 50+ years. You didn't say where you caught em and I can't say that I blame you!

    I guess I can tell YOU where I caught 'em, Cc. I caught 'em right in the lip. I'm pressed for time right now, but I'll pm the details later. I'd post the details here, but I'm afraid I'd get in trouble for causing bumping boats or elbow-to-elbow contact.

    Fishing partner says that Xmas will be taking up ALL of her time, so I couldn't entice her into going out yesterday. However 60 crappie liked blue/yellow hair and licorice-chartreuse BG. One small crappie volunteered to be fed to the kitties, so I got to bring home one big blue and 3 6-7#ers.
    A nice couple was out in their boat trying to get some shad for their 7 jugs, but all they could net was big crappie and some blues. I gave them some small crappie for bait, and all of their jugs were dunked in short order.
    Strangely enough, the crappie were very shallow, including a number of 13 to 14 1/2 inchers.
    Merry Xmas, y'all. Don't forget the Reason for the season. He has really blessed my fishing partner and myself for many years.
