Default My new to me crappie boat

Tracker 185 special edition, W/75hp Merc. Guy bought it new in 2001, fished with it for two years, had heart attack, and had failing health. It's only been on the water for a couple of hours a year. Great condition with low hours. We are going to like it.
Came with two props. Both composite. I'm thinking I need a SS prop.
What's everybodies experience with the composit?

Thanks! I only know of one other person that had a composite prop, and they lost the blades water ski'ing with it. This boat has had the same prop for 15 years now.

A composite prop is good to have in case you damage an aluminum or stainless prop to get you back to the ramp. Makes a good spare, but if you are going to chase crappies where they live I would suggest a stainless prop forsure......Ranger

Ranger09 is correct. Composites are for emergencies or low hp motors. They can't make them stiff enough not to flex. Even aluminum flexes slightly. SS is the way to go, if you can afford it.

I agree, although this 15 year old prop has not a scratch on it.
I suspect its because he used it to fish for hybrids and white bass in deeper waters.
