Well I'm one of those lurkers that has been around for a short time but chose to stay kinda quiet till now for no reason other than I know, or knew diddly squat about crappie fishing. I like to research anything I want to be involved in so I have been reading, reading, and reading some more. Spider rigging, pushing, pulling, dock shooting and a great many other terms were foreign to me but I've learned a lot and hope to get started in the spring. I got the bug awhile back while at a get together of carvers at a fellow carvers house in Missouri when he started talking about some crappie cevichi he'd made.
I live in Mead, right next to Lake Texoma and have been here 11 years. I'm from Houston and had spent close to 30 yrs fishing the Galveston bay.
The last few years I've been involved in creating waterfowl decoys out of wood, high density cork and wire and canvas. While it still is a great hobby I'm not seeing a down side to having another that the wife and I can do together.
Hopefully I'll have my boat back in shape to use in the spring. This is a great place to hang out and so far it's been a wealth of info.
