Kaw white bass

Hey guys just wanted to know if anyone has fished or heard anything about the white bass run starting up the Arkansas at Kaw. Thanks in advance!

I've been East of Newkirk a couple of times this week. Tons of shad, some big gizzard shad up to 8" long, but few fish are being caught.
We noticed the current picking up, so I looked at the dam website and saw they had opened the hydro gates. We caught 6 nice ones in 5 minutes, then they quit again.

Yep, I've noticed a difference on the white bass and crappie when they got the generators running. Here's a link to the usace webpage for Kaw lake. Good info for reference.

I heard they were hammering them by the hundreds up by the mouth of Chilloco creek and Herberts bottom last weekend, which is nearly to the KS line for those that dont know,

The GW I talked to said it was last week they were hammering them at Herberts bottom. Couple of fronts later, it died off unless your hearing recent reports?
I'd have to drive around to find Chiloco creek mouth again. Used to frog gig the heck out of that creek.

where is Herberts bottom? i can see chiloco creek but nothing about Herberts bottom on Google maps.
