C2, that's a really nice kitty. Would look even better as fillets in a large aluminum pan with a little butter and Old Bay Garlic and Herb seasoning in the smoker using apple wood (possibly even a couple of chunks of pecan wood too).

We came over to St. Louis to watch the grandson play basketball and do some fishing. Unfortunately, the ice is thick enough to take out the boat, but too thin to walk on and use an ice auger. The grandson led his team in scoring in the first game, and two more games are coming up. An ice storm is projected for the day we plan to :donoreturn.
Great idea Steve- next time I fire up the smoker I think I will throw out a catfish line and give that a try. Never found any meat that wasn't improved by smoking except some big shrimp that I over cooked and turned into shrimp paste. That was as bad as it sounds.
LOL, it sure does.
I would like to start hearing some reports from okmulgee lake. It's not that far away from me but I've only fished it a couple of times.
Well here is my report for okmulgee lake. 17 fish caught. 32 fow. 31-18 few deep. Drop to the bottom and slow reel up was only method they would bite. Black/chartreuse slab slayers w pink 1/8 oz head. Fishing breakline of main creek channel. Water temp was 42-45 degrees. Fish ranged from 6"-12". Strong hard bite. Air temp was 45 degrees with 10 mph NE wind. 8am-1pm
longan86-good report except for the air temp, but 45 and 10 mph north wind is not to bad. I could do that for a couple of hrs-maybe! lol
