Are you guys thinking about putting brush out for fishing it this winter or this summer? We put out 55 brushpiles last summer EB
I mainly fish the triangle and south, but i do adventure out time to time, so just wherever is fine with me. EB, i would like to put some out for winter fishing and pre spawn staging areas right now and maybe later make some for summer. I read rangers post and it gave me some good ideas, any advice you might have would be appreciated.
If your puting brush out for the winter concentrate on areas close to deeper sides of the channels, the brush probaly needs to be in 20-25 ft where the top of the brush is 14-16ft or so, you might scan to see where the shad want to be before you drop it. Now in the summer we did the best in brush 12-15ft. As for staging areas cncentrate on points close to the coves 12ft is usaully a good depth. When you drop the brush make sure you have a suttle slop because you dont want the trees to roll deeper on you. Hope I helped. EB
EB, How much does water clarity affect the depths u mentioned. Shallower in muddy water? Deeper in clearer water?

Slab Addict, Im not the expert on this Ranger09 is the guru on brush. But I do have a little expeirence learning from him. Rule of thumb is the muddier the water the shallower the fish. The clearer the water the deeper the fish. Now this rule has a condition, and that is how deep the lake is in the area you are fishing. Now the north end and south end of Eufaula the fish are around the same depths. As for midlake to the dam the fish will run a little deeper because the water stays clearer. Don't be afraid to spread your piles out a little bit, depth wise. EB
So I guess around Arrowhead, the fish must just be under the surface since it's so damn muddy :dono. Maybe that's why I'm not catching much, I'm down around 8-10' in 20 FOW.

Well
I generally put in at onapa and fish 150 back towards Molly brown and on towards i40. if I don't fish that area I will go around porum landing back towards the dam. But, I want to venture out to other areas of the lake.
