Have been in close contact with the family today. Charlie was taken to surgery around 1:45pm and the family was told there would be a 2 to 3 hour preparation time just getting him ready for the major surgery. Total time 5 to 6 hours of surgery. This is what the surgeon said.
He repaired the Mitral and Tricuspid valves and did Ablation for the AFib. Aortic valve leaking a little but not enuf to ever bother him. He did very well. Should be in Recovery in about 2 hrs and we can see him then although he won't be awake yet.
Like to say a big Thanks for all the calls, concerns, and Prayers. Thanks So Much..........Ranger

Update on Charlie: This morning about 12 hours after surgery all the tubes were removed while in ICU and Charlie was moved into a private room. This not only will allow Charlie more time to rest, but also for the family to rest as well in the same room. Charlie is getting his appetite back and is asking for something to eat so this also is a good sign even the hospital food. It's good to see his smile and in such good spirits. The next few days will be pretty tough with the coughing exercises and being active as he is. Thanks Guys for all the calls and messages. God Bless.......Ranger
