Default First OK report, Lake Carl Blackwell outside Stillwater

Finally caught some fish. I shore fished Blackwell 5/16 and managed a dozen smallish crappie and one little warmouth. Mainly caught on a 1/32 oz jig head under a bobber with crappie master (little bass assassin type plastic) in electric chicken with a crappie bite (not crappie nibble, different brand).

One of these days I'll find a cheap boat, but it was a nice sunny day with not too much wind, so I had fun and filled a small bag with fillets. I think the lake must be over stocked with crappie due to the smallish size, all the females had eggs

Welcome to oklahoma then Scott, assuming you are new here. Yeah, as you said CB is full of small crappie but the c.c boys did some serious thinning last winter. Thanks for doing your part. This might be one lake where we should eat everything with fins.

Agreed Ciller. There are tons of 8-9 inchers in that lake and we're doing our part to remedy that situation.
