I really wanted to learn to crappie fish this spring, but the weather and other things have kept me from going to any good places to fish so am trying Tecumseh Lake and Shawnee Twin Lakes...no luck at all at Shawnee and only a few small bass and one small
cat at Tecumseh. I love to fish, and really enjoy eating crappie, sandies, and bass but I cant eat if I cant catch---I see everyone elses pics and hope that maybe someday soon I will be able to post some whoppers of my own, but I wonder if its ever really going to happen

Sure it will happen as long as you keep pounding away. You might invest some time and travel to get to some spots that hold more crappie. I suggest Holdenville Lake since its not too far from you. You can fish on the community dock or fish along the banks. I've caught a lot of nice crappie at Holdenville. Or if you want to expedite your fishing skills, book a trip with one of the guides in here and fish Lake Eufaula for a grand time and the best learning experience money can buy, it will pay off in the long run. Good Luck!

If you're at Twin Lakes then drive a little more to Thunderbird in a week or so and fish the rip rap all up and down the dam. A little tricky to walk but when the spawn is on it is really rewarding.

Twins lake can be really tough. There are decent crappie there though. Try casting up and down the boat ramp next to the fishing dock. Iv caught some good ones there before but iv also had a lot of days with no fish. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398443386.237343.jpg

Takes awhile to learn a body of water, especially if new to crappie fishing as well. Just stay after it and keep a diary so you can learn from each trip.
