Were you north of Holly creek? Did you get as far as the 40 ft. hole or on up to Panther Creek?

As I recall, Linson Creek runs thru and out from the McCurtain County Wilderness area. I've always found fish (more Bass than Crappie) there. If you went up to Panther Creek (primitive area) or further you should have found all sorts of fish. The walleye should be staging on up the river. Sounds just like a weird day. Sorry you drove that far for nothing. I don't make day trips that far. When I go I'll stay a couple days. Broken Bow is 3+ hours for me one way.

I went up to turkey creek according to google maps, the average depth of the channel was 35-40 at that point. People were trying to find the walleye, but none that I spoke with had found any. Water temp was 44 up the river, warmer as you went into the lake and back in shallow coves. The only shad I found were in a shallow sun warmed cove, it was 50 degrees.

Panther Creek is on up a considerable ways from Turkey Creek. This time of the year I've seen them almost up to the Narrows (which you can't get to by boat.) You can get to Panther Creek and Buffalo Creek by boat tho'. Most of those creek areas hold lots of fish. Who knows?? We are having such a weird year!:dono

btw - the Walleye spawn would probably be over at 50 degrees.

This just came in this morning. My neighbor is at Broken Bow right now and said the crappie are biting. Here's the proof.

Did he say where he was at and what he caught them on?

Hat55, no he didn't BUT I recognize the bank he is fishing and I know what we fish with when we head down that way. It's the only thing we throw for crappie down there. Let's just say he's in the sand springs bend area and he was using an 1/8 oz road runner red head with a 3" tripple ripple in pumpkin chartruese.
