Yeah I've heard talk of that reel. It's a lot like the Crappie Maxx I spoke of earlier that I use.

I ordered a Bonehead 7' rod late on the evening of the 6th. It came in today and appears to be excellent quality. I'll load it up with a President 6925 and bonehead braid tomorrow but I probably won't get a chance to try it out for a few days. I hadn't been able to reach Josh but had heard excellent reports on the Texas Fishing Forum about Angler's Pro Tackle in North Richland Hills. I went to their web site and they showed them in stock - $99.99 shipped. They had excellent communication and quick shipping. It would have been here a day sooner but for the weekend.
I have to admit I was reluctant to order one because the handle seemed about 4-6" too long for my preferences in a 7' rod. Sure enough, it feels too long to me. I don't need the handle of a 7' rod to come back to my elbow, which it does. That's where my 9 and 10' rods come to and I like them there. My favorite rod has been a 6'9" Falcon BuCoo light action. When comparing the two the longer handle on the Bonehead actually makes the rod an inch shorter than the Falcon. I couldn't tell the difference in weight although I'm sure there is some. I'm not trying to disparage the Bonehead as it looks to be a superb rod. I'll probably get used to the long handle and I'll have braid on it exclusively. I only use Viscious on my BuCoo. They will be side by side the next time I get the boat out (and maybe on a pond before then.) I'm really anxious to try it out (long handle or not.)
I also got a Lil Bit lanyard in the mail today from Arkansas - neat tool!
Your going to love that Bonehead Rod Ikeni!! Guaranteed! I am anxiously awaiting his 10' or longer jigging pole!!

Ike....if the 7" handle is too long trim it to fit your preference. It wont affect the action one bit.
Oh I know it won't affect the action but would most probably affect the balance which is very good. I weighed it and my Falcon today and the Falcon is actually a few grams lighter. The Boneheads great balance is what makes it feel lighter. The handle is actually more than 7" anyway - it begins well behind the reel seat. And, I'm not one to start chopping on a $100 rod. I'm sure I'll get accustomed to the longer handle and it will become a favorite rod. The quality is excellent!. It will be awhile before I get to use it. I've got an electronics project going on right now.
