UPDATE!! okay, I'm for sure heading to Fountainhead dock sunday morning. Anyone want to join me I'll be there, or if you want to ride along, you can park at my place north of Okmulgee, (where we play fiddles, not banjos). PM me and I'll give out directions to Pappa's parking spots!
I have been fishing the heated dock at Indian Hills Marina up until the last month. The water turkeys have taken that one over. Used to be really good. Started fishing Claremore which has a nice heated dock but gets pretty crowded on weekends but decent fishing and Hudson lake marina heated dock.. I take my 13 yo son there he always has a blast. We always catch lots of smalls and I mean lots but some keepers too. Ron and Rick Martin run this dock and it's a 24 hr dock. Marina/Café/Baitshop is open 6am-6pm they have one of the best selections of Bobby Garlands and hair jigs that I have seen in a while. You can call ahead and they will tell you how the fishing is. Always been real honest with me. (918)-434-6099 The locals are friendly and don't mind telling you what they are having luck with. Hope this helps anyone looking for a decent heated dock. They keep this one pretty toasty on the cold days.
Scott, I heard it was a pretty active dock. Where on the lake is it located, by the project office?
Claremore dock is by the boat ramp and ranger station. The Hudson dock is the marina/dock and if you head east out of Pryor on highway 20 and just after you pass the Salina high wall racetrack the next section you come to you turn right and follow Hudson lake marina signs. Lots of brush in this one. Wanna say 18 to @22 feet deep under dock and it's tucked in a cove with a high wall that blocks some of the wind. There are also slips that you can fish on the front and back sides. Was told slips out front were close to 40 ft water and slips also have brush. It's about an hour drive for me from BA but I always catch crappie there and have a good time. Usually make a day of it. Seems like early is best but usually off and on during day into evening. Seen some real nice channels caught outside there also but just crappie inside. 6 foot pole max inside. I'm planning an evening trip before long, have seen some good baskets of keepers from overnight fishing there.
Scott,
That sounds like a great place to spend some of the colder mornings at this season. Thank you for the information on this one. Let us know when you plan on making an evening trip and I may try and make it out there. Do they have a bait shop on site or do you need to bring your own minnows? I have a tendency to fish with both shinners and jigs, so I always like to make sure there are shinners available.
Again, thanks for all of the information.
