    Default itch to fish

I am so thankful and blessed to have received the gift of a car...now I can go fishing anytime I want (almost) but without a boat I am confined to bank fishing which is ok at ponds (I need more ponds to fish but cant find people willing to give permission so looking for willing land owners) I don't know what lakes have good bank fishing (cant walk very far to reach my fishing spot so I would like some tips from those of you in the know...and I wouldn't turn down any offers to fish together either by bank or in your boat thanks for any help any info that you give me

Where are you located at? That might help us to be able to give you an idea on where to fish at.

All of these are "Close to Home" fishing ponds in the OKC area.
These are generally stocked by the Department of Wildlife.

I went to dolese a few weeks ago to try my hand at trout fishing...caught one rainbow..didn't have any luck with crappie or bass....would love to find more local farm ponds to fish in...I think I could get into lake fishing if I had a boat....two great Godly men took me crappie fishing last summer long before I was gifted a vehicle and I was still recovering from several health issues...I had so much fun, and it made me want to do more crappie fishing---but I guess I would fish for anything as long as its fishing I am all in lol....I just read of a spot (further from me than dolese) called mulvey pond at Yukon...when my next ssid check comes I may have to plan for extra gas money to go there and give it a try

I wish I could help more but I am in the Tulsa area and I am not really familiar with the OKC area at all.

Just hit the Little Axe dock at Thunderbird early in the morning and you'll be good to go. I always catch crappie there and has been my most consistent spot when not in a boat. Some days more than other. There are a ton of trees/brush submerged on the east side of the dock. It's not visible now with the lake high except with one tree visible. Lots of people that come there just jig the inside opening but I cast out in the trees/brush and let my jig drop then slowly reel in. I lose a lot of jigs but usually pull in bigger ones than the others there. I bone out when the crowd starts to roll in around 8'ish. The rip rap on the dam is hot as hell when the spawn is on. I just hit it in sections. I cast parallel with the dam about 10' out with a bobber to stop my jig from hanging up and reel it in. Seems like it is usually towards the later half of May.

If you live in Shawnee you have got Shawnee twin lakes west of town with enclosed dock on the south lake right by the dam.can be pretty good crappie fishing if you hit it the right times.it will cost you lake permit but I don't think its but 2 or 3 dollars a day or a yearly for 25 ,could be wrong on price.riveboat are you the lady begging for someone to take you fishing last year?
