Quick question Cody, by "walk to" do you mean that you do not have a boat? The dock at Carl Blackburn has been on fire lately. I would stay away from the one at Lake Keystone as it is only in about 10 feet of water for some reason. As spring starts getting closer and the water gets warmer you can catch some on the South Side of Keystone damn. Just watch out for the guys with the Surf rods catfishing. It is kind of an unspoken rule that they get the right of way because of the length of the rods.

No I don't have anything but my own two feet. I've been to this pond right by where I live but there's only perch and huge shine or minnows that I know of and it doesn't have any brush so this morning I made my own to see if I can't get some bait fish isolated and maybe any crappie that may be in there also.

Hi Cody, and welcome to Oklahoma. The greatest state in the Union! The highway south of Glenpool, (I think it's 156) that tags Glenpool and Bixby has some really nice farm ponds just off the highway. There are 2 that used to hold crappie several years ago. My fav was the big, 5 acre pond on the north side of the highway. Just watch the snakes! It also had some pretty fair black bass and a few Channels to boot. the other one is where the new pecan grove is. That one you will have to get permission to fish. That can be done at the pecan barn there on the property. Hope this helps!

I am not really familiar with that area as far as farm ponds go. I would think one could just see what all was in the area then ask the land owner for permission.

Welcome to the forum Cody and good luck with your quest to find a good fishing spot. And don't let any of these rascals in here razz you about being from Texas, it's the only state in the union that kicked another country's butt.
