A haven't used this hook and they sound very nice when fishing wood to retrieve your jig after getting it hung up. I do have a concern though and maybe a few of you could enlighten me. If it bends thats easily do you lose fish somethimes from a good fight. Or after getting hung deep in a pile and wrapped around a limb does the hook straighten out causing you to lose a big fish. Fishing tournaments not sure I would use it. If and when I get hung in a tournament which I do alot and my hook gets bent just alittle I consider if weakened and change it asap. Maybe I am just a little twisted and pay attention to detail to much.....Ok I have a hang up ...lol.....Ranger

There are some Tournament Fishermen that use these hooks when fishing stump/tree infested waters. Lake Talquin in Florida has made these hooks popular with the locals that fish this lake on a regular basis........I have several pics of 3 pounders caught on #2 litewirehook. These hooks are good when you are fishing these type waters.......If you are fishing open waters with little or no hang-ups........then Sickle or Gold is the most popular. Of the approx 75,000 hooks per year.......98% are litewirehook. Pics of fish caught on these hooks can be seen: http://laketalquinlodge.com/gallery/...71107.JPG.html

revived an old thread for some recent experiences. Today I was Crappie fishing in a friends pond. Took only two rods. My favorite Falcon BuCoo with 6 lb flourocarbon line and my new Bonehead 7' with Bonehead braid. I fished out of an old Bass Buster plastic boat which sits up real high. I lifted all the Crappie with either rod and had no problem but there was no 2 lb one there. I caught several small Bass on the Crappie outfits and three larger ones. I used Litewire hooks exclusively. I was leary of lifting the bigger bass with the rod so I would reach over, grab the line and lift the fish into the boat. My largest (6.1 lbs on a little electronic scale) lifted into the boat just fine on the flourocarbon line and Litewire hook. And that was after I had re-bent the hook back twice after pulling loose from a hangup. One of my favorite hooks!
