    Default Dripping Springs

Anybody willing to give up a few hints on how and when to attack this small lake outside of Okmulgee? I've bass fished it a couple of times but never much success. It's close to base and the wife is all into crappie fishing (she's a good ole' gal) Any help would be appreciated and all favors returned

I have had very good success in winter on small ones. Turn south from the launch, go past the fishing dock following the main channel, it hugs the east side of the lake shore. Follow the channel as swings west, about mid lake 3 other channels join the main channel. The fish will be on the main channel or one of the smaller ones right in that area. Using minnows will really help you put fish in the boat that time of year. Good luck, and keep a bunch, that lake is overpopulated with small fish.

Thanks Fishers. Is there still alot of standing timber? It has been 15 years or better since I've fished it. I presume there is. Minnows are right up her alley. Thanks again!

Jigs work great as well. Brush down by the dam is good in the winter. You can catch hundreds of small fish but I have never caught a fish over eleven inches. Cant understand it. Lakes with big bass typically have big crappie.

Well thank you for the offer! Actually looking to go to Dripping Springs and see what's happening there. No jet ski's etc.

Wife called and there is only 3 spots left. Planning on going out this evening and pitching a tent and pay the fee's for a travel trailer Friday night on. Boss feels the need for me to work this week.. LOL.

Well enjoyed our stay there.. dropped the boat in Okmulgee lake and caught one large mouth bass.. wife caught a 4 lb cat.. Next two days were in Dripping Springs.. couple drum heads.. lotsa perch.. and wife caught a decent sand bass. Grounds keeper said middle of July is the time for crappie.. Just glad we dodged the storms right up till time to pull the trailer and boat out!
