Fished today with Fishroper (Missouri) at Bixhoma. Skunked again and really no fish to be seen on the graph. Up until 3 yrs ago, we would easily pick up 5 fish (limit), but they would be monsters. Last couple of times we've been skunked to the point of not even a bite!
What is the popular theory on this former "honey hole?" Has it been fished out? Was there some kind of kill? I've heard locals say it was shocked by Wildlife Department...
Anyone know what has happened???

I have only done well in spring during the spawn, and the size was 10- 12 inches. Have not fished it in 2 years tho.
It's beyond me to get shut out time and time again after such success. My friends are all wondering...Is it possible to fish out a small lake like this? We seldom caught dinks. I know there were a lot of other people fishing the reservoir, and fishing it heavy like us.
My follow up is "how do we restock it?" I've been thinking of going to Sahoma and catching a bunch of dinks and dumping them in. Nice to have a good lake close to home...
let me know if you are going to go to Sohoma. Another place to check out is the heated dock up on Keystone on hwy 51. Since it looks like you are in Jenks you may want to check out some of the city stocked ponds in Tulsa. From my understanding the city keeps these stocked so they can do the "Teach a Kid to Fish" classes.
Like I said if you want to go to Sahoma let me know and we can take my boat and go to Pretty Water. I just don't have a way to tow it up there. LOL

I don't think it is wise you trying to stock it yourself. Might get yourself in a pickle.
I seriously doubt the lake is fished out. It is NOT advisable to restock it yourself as you might introduce a fish that will cause future problems. Call ODWC and talk with them FIRST.
I hear stories about the monster fish at Bixhoma but have never caught anything except gills. Didn't even see fish on the finder the last couple times out there so I gave up.
On a side note if anyone wants to rid Sahoma of some of those dinks on a weekend give me a shout. Or if you're out there and see a maroon Grand Cherokee with a white Texas Maid "v bottom" stop me and say hi. I usually have an extra life vest in the truck.
