Refers to the clearer water toward the dam.
There are 2 blue water areas on Eufaula. Longtown or #9 area and like Scott said the dam area which takes in Dutchess Creek and Brooken areas.....Ranger

When we lived down there it was in the Longtown area. Water was nice and it was more convenient to town than the area near the dam.

VH that's a plus as Floyd states being closer to business and all. When I fished the Longtown area I had a lot of wood set out and caught a lot of fish even in the hot summer months. Same rule of thumb speaking of the Dutchess Creek area. I so need to get back to those areas and start sinking wood again. Just seems there are not enough hours in the day anymore to brush all areas anymore. As far as fishing and catching goes it can be as good in the blue water areas as the stained water. I just fish the water with color more often now is the only difference......Ranger

The fishing in Lake Eufaula is good all over the lake, the biggest difference in the south end and the rest of the lake is all the creeks that feed it. This makes the forage good year in and year out, which makes your numbers good every year. To my experience the consitancy in numbers is better down there, also there is a lot less boat traffic year around. Plus you would be closer to Lake Wister which is only an hour away, and belive me yu want to see those giants down there too! Oh and one more thing VH, the clearer the water the higher the price! Just my 2 cents! EB
