It's like being under house arrest, I'm confined to being inside for most of the summer. Not able to spend any time outside, doing any yard work, neglecting little projects that need to be done, being able to wet a hook. This summer didn't seem to be that bad until the middle of August when those terribly hot days returned. Last summer and the summer before were horrible.
I keep glancing at the calender and calculating how many more days of this heat we can expect and my hope grows with each passing day. Some people hate the winter, I'm just the opposite. I'd rather have snow or even ice than see 100 degree+ temperatures. Getting a little cold does not make me sick, the heat does and boy do I suffer.
This is the LAST summer of this wicked Oklahoma heat I will endure, to hell with it, I'm selling out and moving away.

This is a joke I hope Jim. If not wishing you HAPPY TRAILS....... Ranger

No Ranger, not joking. If I can figure out a way to keep my place here on the lake, I will. But I don't think I can afford two different homes. One up North during the Summer, and this one too for the Winter. Wish I could. I haven't gotten a solid plan yet, but I'm working on it and will probably list my cabin around the 1st of the year. I'd like to be sold, packed and gone no later than May.
My son took his Boy Scout troop up to Ely, Minnesota in August for a canoe trip and I checked the weather every evening while they were there. First night it was down in the lower 40's with a high the next day in the mid-70's. All the time I'm thinking "sure would be nice". I lived in Alaska in 98 and loved every minute of it. I've got a standing job offer at the Providence Medical Center in Anchorage and may end up going back there.
But my family lives in the Ada area and I will never move away and not pay them visits regularly. So even when I move, I will be back occasionally and I will make sure to come to tournaments and get togethers as I can.
So regardless of the outcome, I will be here........ in the forum mostly, but in the area often. Too many people I consider friends in this forum and on the lake.

Jim I totally understand about the heat. The older I get the worse the temps bother me. I too have family in the Ada area since I was hatched and raised there, and with my Grandkids being here I guess I will just hang around for awhile longer. When we were on vacation in late June out West the low temps were in the 40's and highs in the 70's and that my friend is the perfect temperature for living right as far as on the body. Will be going to Alaska in July 2014 on a mission trip fishing for the elderly and may be hard to get me back in the lower 48. Just dreaming I know but sounds good. Wishing you all the luck in finding a cooler climate Jim........Ranger

Stink, I feel for you. That has to be sucky for you. I have a friend like you, but he has a daughter in Montana, so that's where he spends the summer. Fortunately, I can tolerate the heat; I just don't like doing it. :) I hope you find the climate that works for you and you can come visit in the cooler months.
