Close Call
On Tuesday June 18 I went in for a surgical procedure. Whatshould have been a simple operation turned into a close call. During the surgerythey found a mass on my liver (size of a golf ball) so they decided to go aheadand remove it. It was that step that things made a turn. After recovery theymoved me to a regular room for the rest of my recovery. Once there my bloodpressure dropped to 49/28 (yes that is correct) I was bleeding internally sothey moved me to ICU and started to units of blood. During this time I wentinto A-Fib. Heart rate got up to 187 beats per minute. They were able to getthat under control with some medicine. On June 20 they moved me back to aregular room and again I needed to receive 2 units of blood plus I received 2units of plasma. After a few blood tests they finally determined to let myblood levels had stabilized out and I was released from the hospital June 22. Iam home now and feeling good, just have to take it easy for now, but expectinga full recovery. The mass on my liver tested well so no worries there.
