Maybe not the best time to fish Oologah. It was way high and muddy. Now they are drawing it down at a rate of one foot every 2 days. If you notice nobody is posting. You can call Winganon bait store and ask if its worth fishing right now. You may be better off at Copan, they are finished with the draw down and it is normal pool but It is going to be really muddy still. If you can stomach the drive, Kaw is in great shape.

We were lucky this year, the monsoon season didn't hit until a little after the spawn. You can still catch crappie, these guys do everyday, but there is a lot of effort put into it and if you don't have a boat, you're somewhat limited. It will get better this summer when the crappie hang around standing timber. They're doing that now, but it will get better the hotter it gets. Good luck.

Hope you're doing well Beagle, if we ever get together, we can talk a whole bunch of stuff neither one of us can do anything about.

For just some fun all around fishing check out the south side of Keystone damn on the river side. It is "World Famous" for catfish. We were down there this morning at about 6:00 am and ran into a little school of crappie about 10 feet off of the bank and really shallow. We were bobber fishing with small / medium minnows. It seemed as fast as we would cast we were getting hit. About 20 yards from them towards the damn we got into a school of baby cats that were hitting the minnows also. We were there for maybe an hour and half to two hours until it started getting crowded and ended up landing about 2 dozen fish total, including about a 2# crappie that fell out of my hands and flip flopped until it landed back in the water . If you do make it to Keystone dam be sure to hit it early as it can get kind of crowded out there with the folks that are going for the monster blues. Either way it was a fun day. Good luck, Bobo

Bobo-not sure I understand; were you below the dam or above it? I've not fished around the dam much. FYI, our Okla CC tournament on Keystone is scheduled for Dec 7; we would love to have you fish it.

Sorry- I didn't mean to hijack this thread.
