Hwy 51 bait shop

Does anyone know when or if the bait shop on hwy 51 between Coweta and wagoner is going to open up?inlive in Coweta and that's the only place that I know that sold minnows around here unless anyone knows of another? I wish someone would open that place and keep it open it's a good location and setup if they would just be there and be open

Doubt it will ever open again wish someone would do it someone with deep pockets might could get it going again you have to have gas and beer one previous owner didnt want to sell cigaretts and beer and doombed it I willo go by a place that advertised they were gonna sell bait near Coweta and post here if they are doing so good shiner minnows are hard to come by that place had good ones

Yea big george that last guy brown was doing pretty good I thought he got a lot of stuff going food beer good bait and a pretty good selection of tackle and rods! But then one day gone I called him in late December and he said he was opening back up in march but it ain't looking like it! Just hate driving all the way into wagoner unless I'm fishing Gibson I been putting in at afton and catching some nice ones on the river just wish I could get bait closer and please post that place you was talking about if you find it thanks

I agree Cruz. I liked these last folks. Always seemed to have what I needed when I headed out to the Ditch. One segment of customers is not enough to support a place like that. You have to cater to both Hunters and Fishermen and unfortunately, you'll have to sell beer and cigs. Plus you need gas!! Like it or not, a convenience store makes a good part of their income from those last three things. Just take a look at Morgan's corner over East of Wagner. Place has been there forever and seems to do okay even though it's in worse shape than the place we're talkin' about (at least in my opinion... ) And they carry lots of stuff for fishermen and always have fresh bait!

I dunno Cruz, maybe we need to twist Big George's arm and get him to run that place? Call it Big George's Dew Drop In & Bait Shop!

Haha there ya go what do ya say big George? If someone would just spend the money getting the tanks up to date they could make some money there is enough room in that place to open a little restaurant and sale bait. It's not even up for sale now so who knows maybe brown will open back up but he sure is missing out on some money right now!!!

Brown wont be back I know this for sure he is camp host down at #9 on Eufaula he skipped out with several of my fishing rods I had there on consignment to him I will be going to #9 if he dont get them back to me like he told me he would

Sorry to hear that big George i alway thought he was kinda of full of it! Didn't see how a guy that lived out of a camper could own a store lol
