when I was...umm... much younger than I am now...fishing the molly brown on Lake Eufaula.. we would from time to time catch a nasty looking white fish with some angry teeth.. I was told it was a fresh water herring.. but I don't buy that...does anyone know?... to the best of my memory its was white, big scales, yellow/brown eyes.. and nasty teeth.

Sounds like a goldeneye! Ther are also a couple of species of herring that is could have been? A couple of summers ago I snagged a spoonbill in the mouth of gaines creek while I was crappie fishing! It was a little though! EB
