Blue Green Algae?

I've been wanting to try Lake Waurika but now hear that they are having a blue green algae bloom. We have the golden algae around here that kills fish, but I'm not at all familiar with the blue green. I gather it can be harmful for the fishermen/swimmers? How long does it usually last? Harmful to the fish?

Here is a link. I have never heard of any problems with fish, just people and other mammals. They usually only last a week or so, depending on conditions.
