We were sitting around the house last Sunday when my oldest wanted to go fly a kite so I took both kids down to the park by my house. My youngest wanted to catch a fish so we took a couple poles with us since there is a little pond in the park that I know holds perch. Well we didn't catch any perch but we wound up catching about 50 little dink crappie. The biggest one was only 8 inches but my daughter sure had fun.

Size don't matter to the young ones, Good to see them interested in fishing!!
Thanks for sharing the story and for the picture, that sure is a lovely little girl you have and that picture is great. Time flies and in 10 years that picture will be even more precious.
I've got a 20-gallon aquarium and have considered putting a small crappie.......maybe 4-6 inches, in the aquarium but got to wondering if there is any law against keeping a game fish?
Does anyone know?
I wouldn't think so since Bass Pro does this in all their mega-stores, but I am curious.

Great post and picture dinobot keep'em coming.
You obviously haven't fished with my daughter! The first time I took her fishing was for perch on a a lake in E Texas and she was pretty excited when she caught her first one. She caught two or three more fairly quickly. When the fourth perch came out of the water, she turned to me and said "Daddy, these fish are too small, can't we go someplace else and catch bigger ones?" I was actually speechless for a moment! For the life of me I don't know where she came up with that! My Wife said if she hadn't been standing there and heard it for herself, she wouldn't have believed she said that!

Stink, I believe that any legally caught fish is yours to do with as you please.
