Finally a day I got to go fishing. I hit the lake at 1245 this afternoon and headed for bixby creek to fish in and out of the boat houses. I found the crappie to be in about 4-5' of water. I would have the boat sitting in about 9-12' and was casting towards the bank, but not completely up against it. I was letting my lure fall to bottom then slow rolling it back to the boat. They were hitting it from about 2-3 turns of the reel to half way out to the boat.
I literally caught around 150 fish today. That is counting all the small crappie, bass and sandbass. I left at 530 and had know idea how many keepers I had in the livewell. Once I put my rod up I decided I better count my keep. I ended the day with 26 keepers all of which where 10" or bigger. The biggest measured in at 14". Caught many 9 3/4" crappie, but I will not keep any smaller than 10". Let em go and grow for the next years catch.
All the females still had eggs and very bloody. Only one had some gray colored eggs.
I guess I should have stated bixby creek is on lake eufaula in the thread header.

This is the lure I was using. It is a 1/8 road runner with a 3" tripple ripple from bass pro. Pumpkin/chartruese with the red head. This is my go to bait when they are on the bank.
