Full Moon
I've always heard fish seem to feed more during the new moon and full moon phase. I never knew if this was an ol wive's tale or how much truth there was to it. For the past month, I have had perch traps out and baited almost constantly in the tanks behind my house. I go check them every day or two, just to see what I got, and more times than not, I just set them free again unless I need bait. About the last two nights, which has been around the full moon, the traps have been absolutely LOADED with perch. I noticed this last month around the full moon too. Using two small traps, I have caught 3 gallons of perch in two nights, most are about 5 or 6 inches long, perfect for jumpin on a circle hook for an ol flathead. That is a LOT of perch! One trap was not even baited for a night and had 32 perch in it. Unfortunately they are all greens and can't be used for my pond stocking project, but I've got plenty of bait for jugs this weekened!
I just though it was interesting how many more fish have been in the trap over the last couple of nights, a significant difference. And I am going to attribute it to the moon phase.

I know that the Bass Fishing is tough during the day during full moon phases but if you like to night fish, you can catch em. During New Moon phases they are alot easier to catch during the day. I assume that most other fish do about the same thing.
