I think this time of year they are busy spawing and not feeding, the reason people catch so many is they know where they are at, what I mean is the fish Are defending more than feeding. To my experience post spawn fish eat more than any other time. I have caught 1lb crappie with 10 juvinile fish in it's belly. They eat what ever presents itself and they grow fast in Eufaula, I think in Eufaula a year old fish can be up to 10 inches long, becuase of the forage. We have 6 inch fish hitting 3 inch beaver-tails, that is pretty agressive! EB
