Has a missing persons been filed with the police??? Has anyone gone by his house???
Can they not track his electronics on his boat if there turned on? Hope all is well for him very tense reading this.
I'm pretty confused. Last time anyone talked to him was Tues? Is there no family? You said law enforcement was involved? Why havent they gone by his house? Seems like the first stop that should have been made?
Fishers is about 40yoa, single, and does not talk about family much. He is very involved in church. He has a private life. This is what makes him so hard find or look for. The only habits he can be traced with is church, love for fishing, and painting houses. I'm pretty close to him, and do not know, someone that is not on the board, to contact.
I've been by his house 2 times a day since Thurs. No changes. The neighbor to his south is involved and is collecting his mail for fear of checks getting in wrong hands. I'm going to his house in the morning. If there is no change, I don't know what to do but wait.
If Chris can make church, he will. But I don't know what church he goes to.
I just can't believe someone still has not heard from him. I'm with you crappiepappa I just don't know what else to do but pray and wait.
Im back. No problems just fishing! I was at Hugo for two days and at beavers bend trout fishing for three days. My cell phone company must have dropped their contract with the south east Oklahoma carrier. I had no service at all in the Hugo, Antlers, Broken Bow areas. I apologize for the confusion and appreciate the care everyone shared. Please call the hounds off!
Hound dogs called! Glad you're good to go! Get ready for a chewin!!!!
I already know there is no service down that away from being there last summer!!! Lol glad you're safe.
I had no problems last year at Broken Bow or Antlers, this must be a fairly new thing.
I am glad you are home safe. A lot of man hours put in by friends, game wardens, sherrifs departments, OHP and others. Lesson to be learned here is, if you tell your friends you are going to be back in a day or 2 and your plans change, it would be a good idea to let someone know. There are land lines and computers almost eveywhere in AMERICA. Sorry to be so blunt, but we all pulled a lot of strings looking for you.

Shoots I was there 1st week of September last year and had problems with reception the whole time there.
Prayers answered.
Glad everything is ok
Glad your home safe and sound Chris.
I can fully understand not having service down in that area, for when I have to call a maintenance person out to the powerhouse I have a hard time reaching them cause they all have cell phones and you can't reach them 70% of the time due to poor service. Plus when I go to Broken Bow to fish myself I could care less if my phone had service because I am there for two reasons one is for the fish and the other is to get away and not be bothered. But on the other hand being a single guy and telling someone where your going and then no response for 4 days is very worrisome for all of us not knowing your whereabouts.
Now you better chime in with a fishing report after all this......:-)
I just notified my buddies at OHP that he was home.

Get some sleep Allen.
After all the dang worrying we've done for you Fishers the least you could do would be to post some pictures for us once all the dust settles. Glad you're OK - take care.
I'm just glad our Oklahoma hand model is ok. Was afraid we were going to have to find a new one and all I could see was Allen(crappiepappa) taking over and that isn't a very pretty sight.
Glad all is well. I can't get service on my cell phone when I stay at Pine Creek. No problems at Texoma or McGee Creek. I always leave the phone number of the Camp ground host where I am staying with someone at home so if there is an emergency they can call and leave word.
Yes, a lot of stress, work and worry came through this lesson. I'm probably guilty of pulling the trigger early. But time is your enemy in a missing situation. Chris I'm sorry if this causes you angst but I would do it again in a second if it didn't smell right and I would hope you all would do the same. You just never know what can happen in a blink, and the sooner you act the better your odds of a good outcome.
Odie my plans didnt change! I just read all the posts. Let me clarify some wrong information please. I never said I would be back in a day, I never said I had work scheduled for the next day. I dont know who said that. I took the the whole week off work to go fishing. I took my fly fishing stuff with me so that I could fish beavers bend. I fished Hugo Tues., Beavers Bend Wed., Thurs. and Fri. and back at Hugo today. The trip went as planned, except that there was no cell coverage for me. I checked crappie .com on the hotel wi-fi wed evening for fishing reports but no one was looking for me at that point. Again I appreciate the concern and am sorry for the confusion.
Sooooo, can I return to being my inappropriate self now? I didn't feel right talking about poop or Ciller's solid wang until Fishers was found. I kept having visions of Fishers waking up in a deep hole in southeastern Oklahoma wearing pantyhose and lipstick, while some good ole' boy told him to "put the lotion on it's skin." Now we have to look at your face on the side of a milk carton for the next couple months.
Chris below is the same info we were all given. I received several phone calls early Friday morning. I have connections at OHP and set them into motion. I too am sorry for the confusion. Bottom line is you are home safe. Not pointing fingers at anyone but communication is the key here.

Crappie jiggin wrote : Just got off the phone with Allen and I'm pretty sure he stated that Chris was only going down for the day. Allen is on the road right, but I'm sure he will chime in once he gets home.

Now that you are home, how was the fishing on Hugo?? I don't trout fish so that is not important! LOL!
Odie
Good to hear your ok
Hugo was pretty poor tues so I headed to broken bow. Can always catch trout on a fly in tail waters regardless of time of year or weather conditions. First time for me on the lower mountain fork. It was better than I expected, caught several 15 to 18 inch fish in 3 days with lots of smaller fish. Got to sight fish for big bows with dries and nymphs. Fished for a couple of 24 inch plus fish, didnt spend too much time on them tho as it was obvious they weren't chumps. Hugo was really good this afternoon. I spent the time to really scout the river good and found 2 prime piles. Pulled 15 good fish off those piles in the last 2 hours. River got up to 55 the lake was 63 at the surface. I'll take the heat for this as I totally overreacted it appears. I misunderstood Fishers. It all started with one message of concern and steamrolled from there. I apologize to everybody.
cp...you did the right thing!.....dave
No worries Allen. You were just looking out for me and I appreciate that. In this day and age we take connectivity for granted, or at least I do, and when you dont hear back from someone it can set off alarm bells.
I am just glad we belong to a group that cares about each other this much. No one wrong here. What do you expect we are just a bunch of crazy crappie fishermen? Blessings this day on all.
I think Allen and everyone handled this perfectly. Allen, you did not react too early at all. We are a caring group of folks and it showed big time in this event. We all know that bad things happen to good people and they happen quickly & unexpectedly! I would hope if the same circumstances occur again, we all would react the same way. Chris, I'm glad you are home safe. Allen, Chris is fortunate to have you as a friend! Hopefully we all learned something from this. And for me, I say "Thanks be to God"!
Allen 4-5 days not hearing from somebody now days is a long time. I would have did the same thing. Most of us are married so we would be finding a phone ASAP if we couldn't get cell phone coverage in an area just to let them know "better to be safe than sorry"
I'll tell you what, wish I could get away by myself for a week fishing multiple waters and unplugged from the norm.
