    Default Hawaii Trip

Well, I have made it back from Hawaii and after stepping off the plane into this oven back here I thinks it's time to head back. Wow what a difference two weeks made in the weather. Enjoyed the time over there, but I am actually glad to be back.

I was hoping to get in some fishing while there, but it just didn't work out for me. Was really wanting to try and catch a peacock bass since they are located on two of islands (Kauai and Oahu). As for deep sea fishing I'm not sure I would have survived that. Never really saw any calm water (2-4' sea) on any side of the islands. They were more like 8-10'ers and that would have been just a little to rough for a good outting. Oh well maybe next time. Plus I would have had to share a boat or soloed and I wasn't to sure about that either. We visited 3 different islands (Kauai, Oahu, and Hawaii also known as the big island) and they said that the big island of Hawaii has the best fishing. The best rate I could find there was $94.50 for 4 hrs fishing and that was a shared boat with 5 other people plus tip for deck hands. You get assigned a pole and that is your pole for the trip, so if someone else is catching all the fish and you don't then you are just out of luck.

Had a great time and great memories. Lots of pictures taken by the wife and my daughter got to celebrate her 22nd while there. It's funny how vast the islands are. One side of an island may receive 150" of rain per year while the other side might only get 10" for the year. The Isalnd of Kauai has the wettest place on earth and receives on average 470" per year and yes this is true, so don't complain about us getting a 4" rain in the spring to shut down the crappie here at home....LOL.

The wife is wanting to go back for our 30th next year and I might just have to give in to her again.

See ya guys on the lake,
    Jiggin

Sounds like you enjoyed yourselves. I'm going in October. Ranger, you get your wife to Hawaii and go deep sea fishing. From pics you've posted, she would love it.
