I fished Skiatook years ago a couple of times. Never really got into any size of crappie. I can remember tying off to standing timber at night and being able to see a shiner flash over 6' down. Is Skiatook still that clear?

don't think it is that clear but last sunday it was about 4 feet you could see the bottom in a calm area so i guess u could see a flash at 6 feet
Well i am going fishing tomorrow morning Reaper tell me where to go and find some fish MY boss is going with me so i need to brown nose the hell out of this ......lol
I couldn't even tell you where a boat ramp is on Skiatook these days, but Oologah has been red hot spawn wise. Seems that Crappie can be found along any bank on any part of the lake lately. I have no clue as to what yesterdays rain did to the fishing. I might take my daughters out later today, but I've got a spending spree to go on. One of the items I've been eyeing is adding the Sonic Hub for the Lowrance Hds 8. I'd probably have to create a station to house it though, my boat doesn't have much room for toys. Maybe I'll be able to turn the boat into a "Pied Piper" machine. I just need to figure out if sound would attract them. Dwight Yoakum, Pink Floyd, or R.E.M. should do the trick.

the waves at the boat ramp just west of the damn had the boat high centered so we had to back deeper into the water just about said to hell with it . But we got off the trailer and headed out into the first cove west of the the ramp and went back into another protected cove and latched onto some of the old tree tops and fished away caught a few hybrids on black and white plastic then bam nothing so we tried some minows and worms and caught a few more but no crappie then we caught several perch some small some pan sized. the decided to hit the bottom (which was about 17 feet) Then we started catching the **** out of cats the were small but fun to catch almost had a gar in the boat but chewed the line as we lifted it in...Anyway had fun loading the boat with the waves from hell . So in all we had about 16 fish you name it we caught it! all but crappie ......
As for me personally I just jumped in to these forums with no declaration of being a newbie. I love reading these topics and being able to understand what some of the techniques tht fisherppl use. Hate to say it but never knew what spiderrigging was until i heard it on tv and started looking it up and was brought to this website. Crappie up guys and gals!!!
