Sometimes beans, cornbread, and fried taters are just what you're hungry for and nothing equals the treat. Same with fried crappie, no meal on earth can be more pleasing........ or a great big Porterhouse steak charcoaled to perfection.

Food Quiz: Does anyone know the correct answer for why oatmeal lowers cholesterol?:p

Looks like this thread is a few weeks old, but I got here as quick as I could

I love those beans also, pinto, navy or pork, bring 'em on. But to be the perfect meal, they'll have to have ham in them and you'll have to also have a side of fried Polk Salad and eggs. Then you'll get my attention!

Oops, I forgot all about this thread and the question I asked related to oatmeal.

Oatmeal is considered a soluble fiber and the "soluble" makes it bind to cholesterol causing the cholesterol to be less likely to be absorbed into the body as it passes through the G.I. tract.

And as Martha Stewart would say; "this is a good thing".
