Is there anywhere to bank fish in Talala Creek?
Yes there have been people fishing along the bank for about a quarter of a mile east of boat ramp.

Yep, I was longpole fishing from the bank again at the Winganon riprap. I got there late, and my two buddies had the jump on me with several already on their stringer. The morning started off bad! I drove off without my tackle box, I only had 2 of my favorite jigs with me, and had 4 nice crappie swim off with my stringer while I went to the men's room!!! However, after the fishing got good, things got better in a hurry! We brought home 83. Not many females - but good fishing. 3 - 4 feet of water seemed to be the hotspot for me.
We had 2 very good but different days. Yesterday we didn't start untill about 1130 and at 5 pm we had 12 fish. We picked up another buddy at 515 and went to the same place we had caught them Sunday with RR's. We fished a cut for about 30 minutes and had caught 2. We were getting ready to leave and I threw out into the middle of the cut in 9 fow and caught a nice crappie. We put about 40 crappie in the boat in the next 45 min. There were some stumps or something in the middle of the cut and if you bounced off of them you were going to get bit. Ended up with 71 over 10 inches for the day.
Today we started at 0630 in a different area. We decided to try a jig and cork and picked up 2-3 in 2 different areas each time we went through. So we decided to troll through the 2 areas with minnows. We trolled in 4-5 fow and our minnows were 3 1/2 ot 4 feet deep. We would catch 3-5 each time through the areas so we did this until about 10 and had 32. We then moved up close to the bank and doodlesocked jigs in 2-3 fow and caught them like crazy until about 12. At this time we had 63. We then moved about 2 miles north and tried some other coves with no success at all. We ended up going back to the area we started and trolled through with minnows and caught 6 and doodlesocked the bank for our other 5. Ended the day with our limit of 74 at 4 pm. We had 17 females and 57 males. 14 of the fish were over 1.5 lbs and 4 were over 15 inches. Quality was better today.
My buddy cleaned all the fish from yesterday and I cleaned todays. I will try and post pics of todays on Friday. I am headed back out in the morning.
7 big males and 7 big females.
The 2 biggest females.

Common sense isn't always that common!
This is my first post on crappie.com. I just found the website and love seeing all the posts. I recently bought a boat so now I have some new places to check out.
I went yesterday with my uncle and we caught 55 keepers. Maybe a third were females but all were over 10 inches. We caught several 2 pounders also. In the morning we caught them in about 2-3' of water close to the banks. They quit about 10am so we moved to deep brush and continued catching them. The brush was in about 15' of water but we were only fishing 3-6' deep.
I plan to go tomorrow morning so hopefully the weather cooperates.
A lot of people will use a Capps and Coleman type rig when Spider Rigging or Trolling to keep their minnows and jigs straight down. Here is an illustration of that rig.
Others may put the sinker at the bottom of the line with drop loops a foot above and a foot or so apart.
Cleaned 33 today. Fished Winganon Bridge area until 12:30 PM. All fish caught on blk/pink, and blk/pink/chartreuse jigs in 2 to 4' of water. Almost all males..females still had eggs.
