Tough fishin' on the "O" today. I took the day off and was really hoping to get into them, but it just didn't happen. I fished pretty much all day and only ended up with 3 keepers which I threw back. I caught several dinks also. I started out by the dam and didn't do any good so I ran up to Spencer and didn't do much better. Still alot of current...I could see it going past my marker bouy when I would throw it out. It was nice when the south wind stopped blowing an all was calm for a couple hours...then all of a sudden the cold front came in like a freight train. I did do a little exploring with my new mark5x DSI...looking for some spring time spots.

I fished Spencer today too. I was in a blue and tan 18 ft Srarcraft. I fought south wind and the it just died and lake was glass smooth for a while. Then I heard the wind in the trees north of the cove and all of a sudden that cold north front hit. I gave up then. Caught about a dozen with seven solid keepers. Biggest about 13". Once again they were 17ft deep in 20-22 fow. I spent a little time playing with my dsi too. Love that thing

I'm going to try to get back out there in the next week or so

Hey Froggie, that was me in the black nitro. I think we pulled out at the ramp at the same time. I'll say hi next time. Man, that wind was cold when it started coming out of the north.

I fished for 3 hours this afternoon from 3 to 6. Tried Winganon bridge, Spencer creek, and Goose Island. I caught 12 fish and had 6 keepers. I turned them all looose at the ramp. No real pattern, all caught over brush on jigs. The lake is still falling and I think that has something to do with the bite. My experience has been a stable lake is the key to a consistent bite. Going to give it another try Tuesday and if it is no good I am headed to Eufaula Wednesday. Water temp was 48 in the creek and 45 on the lake.

I made it out today, and fished from 12p-5p. Caught a bunch of dinks, but ended up with 17 keepers. The keepers ranged from 10-13 1/2 inches. I've still been working the shallow water areas on Oologah catching them 2-4 ft deep in 6 fow. Caught them on road runner jigs, wht/chrt. The fish I'm catching are feeding not spawning, but they're feeding like crazy getting ready. The lake bite is going to be tough until the water stablizes, and they quit pulling water. The water they're pulling has affected the fish I've been catching. I had to walk my butt off today just to find these fish, and it hasn't been like that. As long as we don't get a bunch of rain here and up north it won't be long. Here is a pic of the fish I kept.

Hey Schifendecker
Nice to know now who you were. I had to put new trolling batts in the boat and new connectors. Im looking forward to fishing Friday or maybe Saturday if weather cooperates. I've also heard the sandies are starting their run at chouteau Bend area and may try that action too. I'll look for ya again at the big O.

Went to the docks at Redbud today to retrieve some of my gear as we are going to Roaring River and Branson next week for spring break. One of the other slip owners and his brother was just finishing cleaning today's catch, cleaned 44. They said the bite was actually better yesterday than it was today. All fish were at 3 to 6 ft.

Doesn't anybody know if Oologah is releasing water? Anybody fish below the dam lately? I'm stuck on the bank this year so I'm looking for options.
