Put in at elm point today, LATE, around 10:30am, went straight North and up the creek that parallels Dancing Rabbit Road and hwy 31.
My 1st time here, good looking creek and wouldn't you know who forgot his locator! DOH !!!!!!

Wind was a little rough but we found a few fish but they were in small groups fishing and bites were slow! Our success was using minnows about 1 ft deep, caught 3 females and 2 males that were keepers and a couple of bass and catfish!

Fished out about 10' from bank anywhere there was cover and your bait would stay put with the southerly GAIL we had!

It was a tough day but a fine looking creek!
Went old school since i didn't have my locators.
Started by working the steep cut banks with cover, fished in close and out about 10 yards and down to 5'. whoch we found to be bottom most of the time.
Crappie were scattered , water was fairly muddy and LARGE minnows worked better than "crappie" minnows!

We would catch 2-3 in a spot move, catch a few more...not always crappie and not always keeper size but it was active until about 3 then it shut off.

Talked to some folks who came in from WEST of Elm Pt boat ramp who cleaned up and had about 30 REALLY nice crappie 12-15 looked to go right at 2lbs, fat females.
A REALLY nice stringer O' Crappie! They had been working the banks but would say where. All in all I only got that they also worked banks out to about 6' deep where there was cover.

Based on seeing them come in I would say they were North West of the boat ramp. BUT that's an educated guess.

It was a great day on the water and had a little co-operation so I'm happy, I had crappie for dinner for the 1st time this year

GiOS to hear guys. Thanks for reporting. I went today to kerr and caught several males about a foot deep. Backed out on stumps in 3-8 and couldn't get a bite. I was hoping to get some fish before the flood comes in again. Heck we may have crappie spawning into June if the water levels keep fluctuating. Lol
