They're probably out there catching sandies too and just ashamed to say so
I on the other hand have been refinishing OLD wood floors at the lake house and thus have an excellent excuse !

wow . . this post sure has been quiet lately! this was the first time in a long time that I have not caught a crappie at the big E. . I was too busy making easy work of catching surfacing sand bass . . . caught around three hundred around the number nine area. they are still waiting for you to come get them . t threw them all back. can't wait till the crappie are that easy to catch again.

Just another Oklahoma Crappie addict !
I was on Eufaula last Friday, we caught 45 nice fish! We started dippin timber in 2-4ft then finished up out on the main lake pulling jigs in 8-10 ft. No particular color just had to be where the fish were! EB
I should have hooked up with you EB. Pulled a nice one of a marked pile close to where we were staying first night then nothing after that. Needed some guidance - lol. Next time for sure!
Got on the water at 9:00 was off at 3:00 had 55 keepers. 7-9ft of water main lake banks pulling jigs. Blk/pink was the hot color today. EB
Fished today on the south end pulling jigs early in 7' to 9'. As the water warmed the shad moved deeper to 11' to 13' DOW. We cleaned 63. Lime/chart, blk/ pink, blk/chart beavers and slab slayers.....Ranger
You know guys I'm curious and maybe misguided so set me straight!!! But isn't this the latest anyone has seen this type of jig bite and pattern keep going. I thought usually during late and sometimes early july it's better to use minnows. Is it the weather or am I just crazy.
You can do the same thing with minnows but why since they cost you an arm and leg. Usually we are in the creeks this time of year catching the shallow fish but since the lake is still above normal that bite is off. So I will say I hadn't fished this technique this late in the year due to water levels but I can also say I will from now own.....Ranger
EB....sent you a PM
