So, I haven't been out this year as my best fishing buddy was laid to rest after an accident last year at this time. I want to make a trip but reports I've been hearing are the hot bank action is about over, especially on the south end. What do you guys think? Sold my boat for business investments so back to the tube fishing, which i prefer anyways cause it forces me to slow down and really work my water. Thanks for any reports guys!
Has the lake settled back into a good fishing pattern yet? Would like to try this weekend but there aren't any reports.
Wister has been so good I have not fished E that much. But from what I have seen, not much has changed. North end is horribly muddy so I would work the Gaines arm, main lake rocky shores and points, try some brush piles too. There are fish still spawning somewhere but post spawn patterns are prolly more dependable with the sudden rise.
3 days ago the Army Corp website showed Wister 1 foot above normal. Today, I am hoping it is a big mistake, the USACE TULSA website shows it extremely low!!!! I am guessing double digit low. I called the Tulsa Corp office, of course no one EVER answers at the Corp office, so I left a message. Their website shows the same Corp phone number for Wister as Tenkiller. I called the number and it was the Tenkiller office. IF the USACE Tulsa website is accurate, no one may be able to launch a boat at Wister. I even tried calling the Wister Cabin office no answer.
Wister is 1.29 ft above normal
Frank, that happens occasionally with all the lakes. Since the site is computer generated I figure it's a machine brain f**t.
I show it a little over a foot high.
